Welcome
Welcome to the Clovis Civil Air Patrol squadron website. More formally known as New Mexico squadron 060, it is a composite squadron, having both a cadet program and a squadron aircraft. It was recently awarded the "Squadron of the Year" award by New Mexico Wing for 2007.
The Civil
Air Patrol is a national volunteer organization chartered by Congress
as the United States Air Force Auxillary. It performs 95% of
all
inland search and rescue missions per year, as well as a variety of
other tasks such as disaster relief and drug reconaissance.
Incidentally, it is also the world's largest operator of
piston
aircraft, using Cessna 172's (such as our squadron aircraft, pictured
below), 182's, and 206's as platforms to conduct
missions.

| The squadron's aircraft is a 1979 Cessna 172N with a 180 horsepower conversion. |
